About

I’m Em, a ceramicist and multimedia artist in metro Detroit. I began creating with clay in 2020 at the start of the pandemic. After buying a used wheel and kiln off of Craigslist off of a curiosity, I taught myself for four years. I’m now working towards a BFA in 3D Media at Eastern Michigan University.

I enjoy creating unique anthropomorphic art that resonates familiarity and promotes curiosity. Organic shapes, tactility, the human body, and the physical experience of emotions greatly influence my work.

Alongside ceramics, I love dabbling in various media to explore diverse inner and outer worlds. Helps me step out of my comfort zone and keep things fresh, too.

While in my BFA studies, I’m using this time to explore as many studio arts as possible and befriend the inner drive of artistry.
